The Schloss-Strassen-Centre represents the beginning of the well known Berlin shopping street Schloßstraße. In the south-west of Berlin, the Schloßstraße is the shopping centre for the boroughs of Steglitz-Zehlendorf and Tempelhof-Schöneberg and it is Berlin´s second biggest shopping area with over 100.000 sq.m. of retail area.The Schloss-Strassen-Centre is located directly on the Walther-Schreiber-Platz junction, with direct access to the Underground railway, to buses and roads. The architecture of the building strengthens the strong presence of the centre with its location at the junction of Schloßstraße, Rheinstraße and Bundesallee. Over 15.000 sq.m. of retail area are located over three levels, linked by a Mall and two Rotundas. Car parking is above the retail areas.
AUKETT + HEESE were commissioned to do the detailed design and working drawings on the basis of a design by npp Architects. The owner is Tenkhoff Properties with AMB GENERALI Insurance.
