The OpernCarrée project is the redevelopment of a 7.000 sq.m. city block site between Behrenstrasse at Bebelplatz, adjacent to the Opera and Französische Strasse at Gendarmenmarkt, in the historic centre of Berlin.The previous headquarter of the Dresdner Bank, a listed building, was converted into the Rocco Forte Deluxe Hotel de Rome with 146 rooms. Two further listed buildings were renovated for office use, the BehrenPalais and MarkgrafenPalais, and the GendarmenPalais, as a new development with office and residential use, complete the block.

AUKETT + HEESE were appointed by HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung for the complete working drawings and detail design package, based on a design by NMA, and for the Interior Design and FF&E packages of the Hotel de Rome, working together with Studio Ziffer.
